My first project!

This was one of my first projects ever! This is what got me to love refurbishing furniture. I got these end tables and a coffee table from a friend, which I was blessed to have. After a year or so, I started to hate them. I wanted give my home a new look. I love blues and greens, so I decided to use a turquoise color for the base. Also I had extra black chalk paint and used it for the top. This also makes it easy to wipe down when my children wanted to make a mess or draw on it.

I do recommend chalk paint for the tops of coffee tables or end tables if you have small children or animals. This makes cleaning so much easier! I bought Rust-Oleum Chalk Board paint at home depot for less thank $10. It is sooo much fun to draw on. My kids love it.

Then I used a Rust-Oleum spray paint in seaside color. I love using this spray paint because it has the ultra cover to hide any flaws or imperfections. Its a paint and primer in one. Its great for wood, metal and plastic. I did use two coats to make sure the dark wood didn't show up. If you are painting over a dark wood, use a white primer before painting. If painting over a light color wood, use a gray tinted primer before painting. This will give you the best coverage. I didnt know this til after a few projects. this will save you money in paint!
